Erasure (Vince Clarke and Andy Bell) have unveiled the first track from their new album, Snow Globe. ‘Gaudete’ - out on 9 December - is the band’s take on the traditional Latin carol, and you can watch the ethereal animated video here: http://vevo.ly/Aq9id7 .
‘Gaudete’ is directed by Martin Menuier, whose credits include James & The Giant Peach and Coraline, and Tonya Hurley, the author and director best known for the book series ghostgirl and The Blessed. The dark and beautiful stop motion animation clip sees two mysterious monks travelling through an icy ruin and the video follows the album trailer, which features Erasure’s version of ‘Silent Night’: http://youtu.be/o4hgK0aG528
In addition, the band have partnered with Snaps to create a very special app that allows you to climb inside the Snow Globe… Go to http://www.snapsapp.com/ to download the application that allows you to photograph yourself inside the Erasure Snow Globe and alongside the artwork.
